Empty Leg Flights from Whiteland

After a charter jet drops off its passengers, it often flies on with every seat open. You can book that trip for less than a full charter. We tell you what is open, how settled the departure time is, and what happens if the first trip moves.

What an empty leg is and who it suits

A charter drops its passengers in one city and has to get back to base, or fly on to its next pickup. That repositioning flight goes out empty unless someone books it. When you take that seat, you are paying for a flight the operator was already making.

The trade-off is control. The route and the departure time belong to the original trip, not to you. If the first customer moves their flight, the empty leg moves too. Sometimes it goes away.

That makes empty legs a good fit when your dates have some give and you have a backup plan. A weekend away, a one-way trip to see family, or a business trip where a day either way is fine. If you have to be in a room at 9 a.m. Tuesday, a regular charter is the safer call.

Our part in your empty leg booking

Open legs, as they stand today

We search for repositioning flights out of Whiteland and the airports within easy reach. For each one, you hear where it goes, which aircraft is flying it and the current departure window.

An honest read on how firm it is

Some empty legs are locked in days ahead. Others hang on a trip that is still being planned. We tell you which kind you are looking at before you commit.

All-inclusive quotes

Your price covers the flight as quoted. No hidden costs show up after you land.

Updates when the schedule moves

If the original trip shifts, we call you as soon as we hear. You get the new time, or the news that it is off, and your options from there.

A backup option ready to go

If an empty leg falls through, we can quote a regular point to point charter on the right size aircraft, from a turboprop up to a heavy jet.

Room for the dog, and a connection

Your pet can fly with you, and we can look for WIFI equipped aircraft. Both come down to which jet is working that leg, so bring them up on the call.

Signs an empty leg is the right fit for your trip

  • You only need to go one way

Every empty leg heads in a single direction. You never pay round trip pricing for a return seat you have no use for.

  • Your dates can move a little

If leaving Thursday or Friday both work, you have a real shot at a match. The more flexible you are, the more legs we can offer.

  • You have a fallback

A commercial ticket you can still cancel, or the option to drive. That way a schedule change is an annoyance, not a lost trip.

  • The route lines up

Empty legs follow where jets are headed anyway. If your trip runs toward a busy destination, odds are better that one is going that way.

  • You want private without a long-term deal

There is no commitment beyond the one flight. Book this one, and decide on the next one later.

From first call to wheels up

  1. 1

    Share your route and dates

On the phone, give us the airports, how many passengers are flying and how many days of slack you have. Bring up luggage and pets as well, because both narrow down which aircraft will work.

  2. 2

We match you to open legs

We look at repositioning flights that fit, and walk you through each one. You hear the departure window, the aircraft size and how settled the schedule is.

  3. 3

You get your quote by phone

We give you an all-inclusive quote for the leg you pick. If nothing fits, we say so and quote a regular charter if you want one.

  4. 4

    We keep you posted

Between booking and departure, we watch the original trip. If anything changes, you hear from us right away, not at the FBO.

  5. 5

    Day of the flight

Plan to get to the FBO a little ahead of your departure window. The crew greets you, your bags get loaded right at the aircraft, and you board without a long security line.

What sets the price of an empty leg

Empty legs usually cost less than booking the same jet on demand, because the operator is flying the route anyway. How much less depends on a few things. We go over each one when we quote, so the number makes sense to you.

Aircraft size
A light jet leg costs less than a super-midsize or heavy jet leg. Bigger aircraft burn more fuel and carry more.
How close to departure
An operator with an unsold leg will often drop the price in the last few days. Holding out can pay off, but someone else may book it first.
Route and distance
Longer flights cost more. A leg that needs a fuel stop or a change in route to reach your airport can change the number.
Asking for changes
If you want a different departure time or an extra stop, the operator is no longer just repositioning the jet. The price moves toward a regular charter, and we give you that figure before you agree to anything.

Empty leg questions we hear most

Something not covered here? (317) 751-2071

What if the empty leg I booked is canceled?

The first trip sets the schedule, so a leg can drop off if that customer changes plans. You hear from us the moment we find out. Then you choose: hold out for another leg, or take a regular charter quote on a comparable aircraft so the trip still happens.

Can I change the departure time?

Usually not by much. The jet has to be at its next stop on time. Small shifts are sometimes possible, and we will ask the operator, but plan on the time as quoted.

How far ahead can I book one?

Most empty legs show up a few days to a couple of weeks out. Some appear the day before. Call us with your trip and we will tell you what is open now and keep looking if nothing fits yet.

Can my pet come along?

Pets are welcome on our flights. Tell us what kind of animal it is and roughly how big when you call. We will check that the aircraft on that leg has comfortable room for your group and your pet.

Do I have to fly back on an empty leg too?

No. Each leg is booked on its own. You can return on another empty leg, a regular charter, or a commercial flight, whatever fits your schedule.

Give us your route and the days you could leave. We will come back with the open legs and a plain answer on how settled each one is.
